Dr Mwewa, a Senior Academic in the Faculty of Natural Resources and Spatial Sciences, has served in the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) in various capacities, including Acting Special Advisor to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Spatial Sciences for nine years as well as Head of Department of Land Management for three years.
His research interest is in environment, development, and sustainability with a special bias towards renewable energy systems and its relation to food and water security, with SADC as the region of focus. He leads and coordinates a few research and capacity development projects that avails opportunities to young scientists. His personal ambition is to see Sub-Saharan Africa liberated from the shackles of poverty and underdevelopment for the benefit of all generations, using science and technology as tools to enhance resilience and sustainability.
