Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL.org)

The Namibia University of Science and Technology - NUST hosted the Executive Director of the Southern African Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL.org), Prof Irja Nelago Indongo, and her team on a courtesy visit to the High-Tech Transfer Plaza Select (HTTPS) on 1 July 2025. The visit reaffirmed a longstanding partnership rooted in advancing climate science, capacity development, and regional collaboration through initiatives such as the SGSP-IWRM programme. During his welcome address, NUST Vice-Chancellor Prof Erold Naomab stated that, โ€œthe relationship between SASSCAL and NUST goes beyond formal collaboration, it is a relationship that stands as a beacon of excellence in cooperation for sustainable development, research, and innovation in the face of climate change.โ€ NUST remains committed to impactful collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of science-led solutions for climate resilience in Southern Africa.

The objective of the SGSP โ€“ IWRM is the development and deployment of an innovative and excellent regional collaborative education and research programme at PhD degree level complemented by selected tailor-made short courses for decision makers and industry, as well as a curriculum for a new regional PhD qualification in IWRM.
