Biography

Dzikamayi Tanaka Nyatoro holds a Master’s Degree in Biology: Specilaisation Human Ecology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium obtained 2013 and completed his Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Biology with the Midlands State University, Gweru, Zimbabwe in 2009. He has about ten years of professional experience in the international research and sustainable development sector; with emphasis on environmental impact assessments, climate change, land use management & monitoring, developing, and reviewing biotechnological policies, training staff, and database management systems. Dzikamayi Tanaka Nyatoro has previous experience working as a research officer under the Southern Africa Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land management (SASSCAL) Project for task 059 (Plant and vegetation databases of the National Botanic Research Institute, Namibia) and task 060 (Establish and improve baseline inventories for spatial data on biodiversity). He carried out climate change vulnerability assessments, fostering climate change resilience/mitigation in diverse ecosystems and the need for adaptation planning via the application of the precautionary principle.

The objective of the SGSP – IWRM is the development and deployment of an innovative and excellent regional collaborative education and research programme at PhD degree level complemented by selected tailor-made short courses for decision makers and industry, as well as a curriculum for a new regional PhD qualification in IWRM.
