🌍💧Empowering Water Resource Managers through Innovation!

One of the key objectives of the SASSCAL Graduate Studies Programme in Integrated Water Resource Management (SGSP-IWRM) is to complement its three-year PhD programme by offering intensive, specialised short courses to industry experts across SASSCAL member countries.

We’re excited to announce the successful delivery of our first short course: "Harnessing the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) to Improve Water Supply Efficiency" to participants from Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, and Zambia!

These professionals, representing water utilities, academia, and private institutions, gained valuable insights on:

✅Groundwater & Surface Water Sources

✅Water Production & Distribution

✅Water Demand Management

✅Non-Revenue Water Losses

✅Wastewater Treatment & Management

✅IT Solutions for Water Management

📅The course, held from 30 September to 4 October 2024 at the NUST Campus in Windhoek, Namibia, was expertly facilitated by Ms. Laura Ashipala from the City of Windhoek and Prof. Jose Quenum from the Namibia Univerity of Science and Technology.

🎯Coming up next: "Thriving for Sustainability: Applying the Water-Energy-Food Nexus," scheduled for the end of this month. Stay tuned for more transformative courses next year!

Together, we remain committed to addressing Southern Africa's water challenges through the SASSCAL Namibia Centre of Excellence for Water Resources Management. 🌍💧
