SASSCAL Graduate Studies Programme: Promoting Water Resource Management in Luanda #Angola 🇦🇴

The SASSCAL Graduate Studies Programme in Integrated Water Resources Management (SGSP - IWRM) PhD students are attending a vibrant promotional and visibility workshop in Luanda, Angola. This dynamic workshop aims to engage stakeholders across all SASSCAL countries (Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, and Zambia).The activities are designed to: Promote awareness of SGSP-IWRM. Shed light on its core objectives and values. Emphasise its significance through the perspectives of external stakeholders and prospective PhD students. The event features interactive activities and exhibitions, including seminars, displays, and engagements with academia and key stakeholders in the #water sector. These engagements highlight the programme’s contributions to sustainable water security research and provide a platform for promoting collaborative networks among existing and new stakeholders.Notable attendees include Prof. Gabriel Luis Miguel, Chairperson of the SASSCAL Board; Dr. Jane Olwoch, SASSCAL Executive Director; various stakeholders, employees and staff from the SGSP-IWRM project at the Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST).

The objective of the SGSP – IWRM is the development and deployment of an innovative and excellent regional collaborative education and research programme at PhD degree level complemented by selected tailor-made short courses for decision makers and industry, as well as a curriculum for a new regional PhD qualification in IWRM.
